Mildly amusing...but helpful. Wean yourself off that iPod with Guardian Unlimited's How to quit... an iPod addiction.

New Intel iBooks this spring.
Only AppleInsider rumours so far but they say the new laptops will have 13-inch widescreens, Single Core processors, iSights, remotes and Front Row, all in a slightly redesigned iMac-white case. Apparently they toyed with the idea of a black version. My guess is it will be renamed the MacBook.

If you're toying with the idea of upgrading to a new Macintel machine, be sure to be sure to check MacFixIt's Rosetta compatibility index. It's like the Power PC/Mac OS X 10.0 transition all over again.

Hot off the Pop Bitch weekly newsletter: "Bono was overheard this week in Dublin's Michelin-starred Patrick Guilbaud restaurant discussing anew charity red Am Ex card and red iPod." Oo-er!
Thursday, January 12, 2006
Apple's Intel ad was a bit of a shock for Intel. Especially those derogatory comments about its other customers. Is that "inside dull little boxes" or "Dell little boxes"?

Don't miss the iPod Radio Remote. You can stop cussing Apple for losing the remote on the Video iPod. The new one looks like a mini shuffle and has a radio that appears on the iPod screen.

Nearly there!
The Rumour sites have gone into low-graphics, automatic reload mode and worldwide Apple Stores are now offline and being updated for the next hour or so. Kevin Rose's blog predicts:
"15" intel Macbook - order tomorrow, ships Feb (thinner, dual core)
iPod FM receiver
iWork/Life '06
New remote of some type
Photocasting (iPhoto)
OS X.4.4 w/new widgets"
..and he got it right last time.
Apple TVs are rumoured elsewhere (well, if Dell can do it, why can't Apple?)

Looks like iWeb is a new Apple Website app.See this screenshot of a page on their site. It lists iWeb on the Community Discussions list (It's since disappeared). Also .Mac services will be unavailable tomorrow. Could iWeb be a free .Mac app?

Purchase Warning! Don't buy anything Apple until Tuesday Night. You'll probably regret it. There's shed loads of rumors about what will be unveiled at next week's MacWorld Expo, here's the Macworld San Francisco 2006 Rumor Roundup on the MacRumors website.
