Using Adobe Air, the new version of BBC's iPlayer should, at long last, enable us Mac users to download programmes. Annoyingly, this feature has been available to Winodws XP users for over a year.
The BBC News website says: 'The cross-platform nature of Adobe AIR means the iPlayer will work with Open Source and Apple Mac computers "out of the box" on 18 December, said Mr Rose. It fulfilled the Trust's demand that the iPlayer be "platform neutral", he said.'
The full version will be available in February but you can test out the beta here by becoming a BBC Lab rat.
