Last week's Guardian Technology was full of Apple stuff. The front page ran with an interesting story on how GarageBand is helping new bands to get started. George Pringle has even scrawled it onto her skin (that's her up there). They used to have to hire studios by the hour to record their demo tapes. Now they're able to do it on a mac at home (probably in their garages). The Guardian bods ask if including it for free on every Mac is generosity or a clever marketing ploy. Who cares? Also did you know that the drum loop in the Rihanna song 'Umbrella' is straight from GarageBand? Open it up and have a listen to Vintage Funk Kit 03. Slow it down to 90bpm and sing along.
