Leopard Preview details:
"Apple® today previewed Mac OS® X version 10.5 Leopard, the sixth major version of Mac OS X, to its third party developers. Leopard, scheduled to ship in spring 2007, extends Apple’s leadership in software innovation with groundbreaking new features, including Time Machine, a revolutionary new way to automatically back up and restore everything on your Mac®, and Spaces, an entirely new way to instantly switch between groups of applications required for various tasks. Leopard also includes industry-first advancements in Mail and iChat, including Stationery, Notes and To Dos in Mail; and Photo Booth™-style effects, the ability to “place” yourself in any photo or video as the backdrop for your chat, and live presentations of iPhoto® slideshows, Keynote™ presentations and videos in iChat."

Mac Pro redesigned on the inside but not on the outside.
The new architecture can run more hard drives and optical drives. Hence the extra drive bay on the front.
Standard Configuration:
Two 2.66GHz dual-core Xeon processors
1GB of 667MHz memory
250GB storage
Nvidia GeForce 7300GT graphics with 256MB VRAM
16x SuperDrive optical drive
$2,499.
"This is a great product to bust the myth of Apple's computers being more expensive,"
Schiller the priced a similar configuration from Dell for approx $1,000 more.
Build-to-order configurations clocked at 2, 2.6 and 3GHz, with up to 16GB RAM, 2TB storage, upgraded Radeon X1900 XT or Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 video.
MacPro ships today (in the States).
A Leopard doesn't change his spots, unless...
...it's on Mac OS X 5 CD.
Apple have kept the stylish black colouring for it's new OS packaging design.
The WWDC starts today and even the iPhone may make an appearance.
iWeb 2 is going to have a YouTube-type of live video podcasting/webcam thingimajig. iWork will be updated to include a spreadsheet app.
The MacPro will be launched and will be fast as fuck.
There maybe a new generation of iPod nanos.
I'll be checking the newsfeeds tonight.

Off with their tales!
"Apple® today introduced the wireless Mighty Mouse, a new version of its popular multi-button mouse, now with the added freedom that only wireless connectivity can provide. The new wireless Mighty Mouse offers a reliable, secure connection to Macs and features a new laser tracking engine that is 20 times more sensitive than standard optical mice for better tracking on even more surfaces. Priced at just £49 (inc. VAT), Apple’s wireless Mighty Mouse includes up to four independently programmable buttons and an ingenious Scroll Ball that lets users scroll in any direction."

Microsoft's 'iPod Killer' Spotted.
Ooh, I bet Apple are really pooing their pants.
Read about it at HardMac.
The buttons do look too much like those on the 3rd Gen iPod, so it's probably a fake.

Useful iTunes artwork site unearthed.
If, like me, you buy music magazines for the free CD that's stuck to the front, then you'll know how difficult it is to find cover artwork on the web.
Well some kind fellow with too much time on his hands, i.e. me, has been busy scanning these free CDs and putting the artwork on a site called Cover Mounted Covers. Using iWeb, it didn't take that long at all. I would've used Dreamweaver otherwise, and that would have meant me spending hours going through my old manual.
OK, so there isn't that many covers on there at the moment. I do have loads more to scan. Give me a break. I'm about to move house, goddammit!

So long, eMac.
Not even schools can buy the old CRT eMac from today. It may have been a bit on the large size, but didn't it have a lovely rear?
It's replacement is a new £639 (inc. VAT) configuration of the 17-inch iMac designed specifically for education customers featuring a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo processor.
No one likes bulky CRTs anymore. That's why you can pick an eMac on eBay for around £250.
